The Libra Tale

Dark Lore · 2026-09-08
In the velvety expanse of the midnight sky, where stars trembled like lost souls, Astraea, the radiant scales of justice, hung suspended, an ethereal balance of light and darkness. They gazed upon the ravaged earth below, a canvas scorched by time and greed. The celestial harmonies whispered secrets to those who listened closely, but none could decipher the cryptic language of the stars. As the ages passed, Astraea's scales began to feel the weight of the world's corruption. The once-pristine balance had been shattered, leaving an abyssal chasm that threatened to consume all in its path. The goddess's presence was a fleeting whisper, a reminder of the dawn's promise yet to come. Her wings, outstretched and delicate as a spider's web, seemed to weave a tapestry of hope, but even they could not shield her from the gathering darkness. In the depths of the cosmos, the Scorpion's claws now pierced the night sky like skeletal fingers, their malevolent energy a constant reminder of Astraea's unyielding justice. The scales, once a symbol of balance and fairness, now hung heavy with the weight of vengeance. They shone with an otherworldly light, a beacon that warned all who dared to approach the threshold of destruction. The stars above whispered tales of a long-forgotten era when Astraea's scales were not bound by mortal chains. She had walked among mortals, her footsteps echoing through eternity as she searched for the earth's corruption. Her presence was a call to arms, a summons to reclaim the lost balance and restore the world to its former glory. Yet, the stars also knew that Astraea's power came at a terrible cost. With each passing year, the scales grew heavier, weighed down by the accumulated guilt of the world's transgressions. The goddess's heart was a heavy burden, a constant reminder of her unyielding dedication to justice. Her wings beat in anguish, their rhythm a mournful dirge that echoed through the cosmos. And so, Astraea stood vigilant, her scales hanging like a specter above the ravaged earth. The stars watched her with cold calculation, aware that she would bring judgment upon those who dared to defy her will. The balance of light and darkness hung precariously in the balance, as if the very fate of the world depended on whether Astraea's scales could find equilibrium before it was too late. As the ages went by, the stars whispered their own warnings to those who would listen: beware the goddess of justice, for she is a creature of unyielding wrath and unforgiving justice. For in her eyes, there burns a fire that consumes all in its path, leaving naught but ash and desolation in its wake.

After "Remember" (Christina Rossetti)

Poem · 2026-09-08
My shadow falls upon your floor, When I am gone, I ask for more; In dreams I see our love in store, But wake to find it's not there once more. The memories we made, a distant hum, A whispered promise, lost to time's numb. I search for words to soothe my pain, But like the wind, they slip away in vain. Yet still I hold on to what remains, And pray that love will heal this bitter strain. In moonlit nights, I see your face, A fleeting glimpse of a loving place. The stars above, a twinkling sea, Reflecting back the love we used to be. But like the night, it slips away from me.
